Westminster Powers Past Lyon in High-Scoring Victory

2/2/25 Fulton, MO - Westminster put on an offensive showcase against Lyon, securing a dominant 110-90 win on Saturday afternoon. The Blue Jays controlled the pace from the start, racking up 55 first-half points and maintaining their momentum through the final buzzer. 

Annette Ramirez led the charge with an explosive 36-point performance, knocking down 15 of her 29 shots, including four three-pointers. She also contributed eight rebounds and three assists. Gizelle Carreto made a strong impact, recording 13 points, nine rebounds, and eight assists in just 23 minutes. Avylina Powell-Qualo was a force in the paint, tallying 11 points and eight rebounds, while Olivia Hixson added 11 points and four assists. Madison Brown provided a spark off the bench, scoring nine points on an efficient 4-for-5 shooting. 

The Blue Jays' balanced attack overwhelmed Lyon, with five players scoring in double figures. Westminster also won the rebounding battle and capitalized on their fast-paced offense to secure the victory. With the win, Westminster improves their record and looks ahead to their next matchup on Feb. 5 against Blackburn at 5:30 p.m.
